GOLO supports local charities and community-based organizations in New Castle County

As part of our ongoing commitment to support local community-based initiatives, GOLO recently donated over $100K across seven organizations in our corporate home state of Delaware.

The organizations receiving donations are Meals on Wheels Delaware, the Police Athletic League of Wilmington, Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, Veterans' Multi-Service Center, Special Olympics of Delaware, and Girls on the Run Delaware.

"These donations further our efforts to partner with organizations from our community that are making real and tangible differences in people's lives," says Jennifer Brooks, Co-founder and President of GOLO.

The funding will support a variety of initiatives in the local community, including meal delivery programs for seniors, summer camp programs for teens, youth health and leadership education programs, Veterans' services, and more.

Ronald McDonald House of Delaware provides a temporary residence for families of seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at area hospitals. In addition to providing a place to stay, the House offers nurturing and supportive environments where families can be together and find comfort.

"On behalf of our Board of Directors, our staff and volunteers, and most importantly, the families we serve, we thank GOLO for their generous donation and continued support of our mission," says Pamela W. Cornforth, President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House, Delaware.

"At the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, we believe that nothing is more important than family and providing them comfort, care, and togetherness during their child's medical crisis. By providing a "home-away-from-home" to families who travel far distances to receive medical treatments in Wilmington, we allow our families to experience all of the comforts of home, including accommodations, nutritious meals, and a supportive community. Our families are then able to focus on what matters most – the well-being of their child."

Special Olympics Delaware

The mission of Special Olympics Delaware is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for more than 4,200 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

"GOLO has been a strong supporter of our Summer Games and sponsor of our Healthy Athlete station for many years," says David Halley, President and CEO of Special Olympics of Delaware. "Their support will allow free health education, activities, and screenings for over 500 athletes attending our Summer Games. We could not offer these free programs without their involvement and support. It truly is life-changing!"

The Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC)

Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC) exists solely to "serve those who served" this great nation, our Veterans. The organization is dedicated to advancing the cause of Veterans, advocating on all levels, giving voice to their concerns, bringing equity and quality to their earned benefits, and a just resolve to their needs.

"It is only with the support of companies like GOLO that we're able to offer transformational services for Veteran families in the local community," says Joe Brooks, Executive Director of Veterans Multi-Service Center. "GOLO is truly a leader on this front, and we hope others follow."
